Abstract This Law, consisting of six Chapters, establishes the State Policy to cope with Climate Change. It aims at ensuring the local population that the Government promotes the necessary efforts to enhance the resilience of the population of Pernambuco to actual variability and increasing climate change, as well as at contributing to the reduction of the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere at levels that are not harmful to people and ecosystems, and at ensuring a sustainable development through the promotion of sustainable standards for agro-ecological activities in light of the climate change and the adoption of techniques to cope with drought, minimizing the risks of agricultural product benefits.
