Abstract This Law amends articles 2 to 5, 13 14, 16, 19, 21, 24 to 26, 29, 31, 32, 34, 36 to 42 of Law No. 1 of 2004 on patents and utility models in particular: requirements and conditions for the consideration of an invention a new; patents shall not be granted when it is dangerous and harmful to the public health, animals, plants and environment; establishment of the Patent Register; procedures and steps for submitting of applications for patents; rights of patentees; validity of patents; procedures and measures for granting patents; the competent Minister may grant compulsory patents; uses of patents; cases of the revocation of patents; procedures for lodging a complaints; paten fees; offences and penalties; the sentence “ the Competent Authority at the Ministry of Trade” shall replace “the Competent Authority for Industrial Property”; and, addition of Chapter VI to Section I related to the World Registration.
