Entry into force notes
This Law enters into force 15 days after the date of its official publication.
Abstract

The scope of this Law shall be to protect public health, land, waterbodies, flora and fauna and ensuring the right of citizens to environment favourable for life, work and recreation and ensuring radiation and environmental security in Kyrgyz Republic. On the territory of Kyrgyz Republic shall be prohibited the following activities: (a) p geological exploration of subsoil for the purpose of searching and exploration of uranium and thorium deposits; (b) development of uranium and thorium deposits (uranium and thorium mining); and (c) development of radioactive tailings dumps, mountain dumps and their transfer to private individuals for further development and maintenance. It is prohibited to import into the territory of Kyrgyzstan uranium and thorium-containing raw materials and waste.
