This Law enters into force on the day of its publication.
Abstract

This Law creates the National Incentive Policy for Sheep and Goat production. The Policy aims at promoting the following issues: increase the Sheep and Goat production production; improve management in terms of efficiency of productivity and profitability; regularity of supply and standardization of sheep production; improve the quality of products offered to the consumer, the food safety and the fight against the cattle raiding, through the regularization of the slaughter and the commerce of sheep products; stimulate industrial, familiar and artisanal processing of sheep and goat products; research and technical assistance and rural extension, for the technological modernization and management of the sheep and goats productive chains; genetic improvement of animals, with the development of more productive breeds, adapted and capable of generating better quality products for the consumer; productive investments aimed at meeting the demands of the sheep and goat market; and sectoral articulation, with the development of economic and technological cooperation networks.
