Abstract This Law, consisting of 19 Sections, creates the Policy on Climate Change (PEMC) to be applied within the State of São Paulo. This Policy establishes principles, objectives, baselines and tools applicable to prevent and mitigate the effects of climate change. PEMC aims at establishing requirements to be satisfied in order to adapt necessary measures to impacts originated by climate change and contribute to reduce the green-house gas emission in atmosphere.
