Abstract

This Law, consisting of 39 articles divided into four Chapters, creates the National Mining Agency (ANM), a member of the Federal Public Administration, submitted to the Ministry of Mines and Energy. ANM will observe and implement the guidelines set forth in Mining Code and shall have the following purposes: promoting the management of the mineral resources of the Union, as well as regulating and supervising the activities for the exploitation of the mineral resources in the Country; implement the national policy for mining activities; establishing norms and standards for the use of mineral resources, observing the sectoral planning policies and the best practices of the mining industry; providing technical support to the Ministry of Mines and Energy; requesting, saving and managing data and information on the research and mining activities produced by holders of mining rights; managing mining rights and titles for the purpose of mining mineral resources; establishing technical, legal, financial and economic requirements to be met by interested parties in obtaining mining titles; etc.
