Abstract This Law provides for vertical integration contracts in agroforestry activities, establishes general obligations and responsibilities for integrated producers and integrators. In addition, it establishes transparency mechanisms in the contractual relationship, creates national integration forums and Commissions for Monitoring, Development and Reconciliation of Integration (CADEC), or similar, respecting existing structures. Vertical integration between cooperatives and their members or between cooperatives is a cooperative act, regulated by specific legislation applicable to cooperative societies and aims to plan and carry out the production and industrialization or commercialization of raw materials, intermediate goods or final consumer goods, with reciprocal responsibilities and obligations established in integration contracts.
