The law sets forth some general provisions including the definitions of terms related to the provisions of this Law. The defined terms include renewable energy sources, energy systems, and energy-saving systems. The Law sets forth the role of the state in setting regulations in the sphere of energy. The objectives of this Law are to : contribute to environmental protection, rationalize energy consumption and improve its efficiency in various sectors, developing renewable energy sources to increase the proportion of its contribution to the overall energy total. According to article 12, a fund will be established in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to encourage renewable energy conservation. The fund will also work on contributing to energy efficiency projects.
