Abstract This Law, consisting of 6 articles, provides for the quality standards and defining the composition of the basic basket within the State of Roraima. It specifies the requirements to be met by the basic food basket, which is the set of products necessary for health, food security and nutrition, used by a family for a month, and complying with the following principles: I - regional food culture; II - nutritional balance; III - bio-availability of nutrients; IV - personal hygiene; V - control of risk factors for chronic diseases; VI - prevention of diseases; VII - facility of storage and conservation.
