Entry into force notes
This Law enters into force six months after the date of its first official publication.
Abstract

Article 193-1 of Civil Code shall be supplemented with the following wording: “Stationary potentially hazardous biological facilities where are handled pathogenic biological agents of pathogenicity group I”. Article 15-1 of the Law No. 331-2 on plant protection shall be supplemented with the following wording: “State phytosanitary control and supervision in relation to potentially dangerous biological facilities at which handling of pathogenic biological agents is carried out with the consideration of features provided for by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field biological safety”. Article 14 of the Law No. 339-2 on veterinary shall be supplemented with the following wording: “State veterinary and sanitary control and supervision in relation to potentially dangerous biological facilities at which handling of pathogenic biological agents is carried out with the consideration of features provided for by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field biological safety". Article 6 of the Law No. 527-IV ZRK “On national security” shall be supplemented with the following wording: “The main threats to national security are high level of biological risks and the emergence of biological threats”. Annex of the Law No. 202-V ZRK “On permits and notifications” shall be supplemented with licenses for disinfection and disinfestation, and authorization for handling listed pathogenic biological agents.
