This Law enters into force on the day of its publication.
Abstract

This Law, consisting of 11 articles divided into four Chapters, the Ceará Water Resources Management Company (COGERH). It establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of COGERH, entitled to manage the supply of the water resources in the surface and groundwater bodies of the State for monitoring water resources use. In particular, it aims to fulfill the following activities: develop studies to quantify the availability and demands of waters for multiple purposes; implement a system of information on water resources,in order to subsidize decision-making; develop actions to subsidize the improvement of legal support for the exercise of water management, embodied in Law No. 11.996 of 24 July 1992; develop actions that preserve water quality, according to the standards required for multiple uses; develop actions so that the Management of Water Resources is decentralized, participatory and integrated in relation to other natural resources; adopt the river basin as a base and consider the hydrographic cycle, in all its phases; perform other activities that, directly or indirectly are related to its objectives.
