Abstract This Law amends the Law on Environmental Conservation Areas, approved by Law No. 8/20 of 16 April. Amendments deal the definitions of Mining Activities, being understood as a set of activities that include recognition, prospecting, research, evaluation and exploration of mineral resources, and of Oil and Gas Activities, understood as the set of activities that include the prospection, research, evaluation, development and production of oil and gas. It also changes aspects concerning mining, oil activities and gas in natural reserves and national parks and to infringements, including the construction or transformation of facilities in Environmental Conservation Areas or areas of relevant interest without the necessary authorization and the exploitation of natural resources in such areas.
