Abstract This Law, consisting of 11 Chapters, divided into 68 articles, establishes the legal regime for urban land use planning. This Law is applicable to designing, approval, implementation, revision and amendment of urban land use plans. The urban land use planning aims at: promoting the harmonisation and sustainability of urban development, improving the quality of life of population; promoting the preservation of buildings, classified as cultural heritage; promoting the improvement of environment; performing a rational exploitation of soil; and promoting the conservation of natural heritage and the preservation of the environmental balance.
