This Law enters into force on 27 July 2000.
Abstract

This Law, consisting of 26 Chapters and divided in 183 articles, approves the Mining Act to be implemented within the territory of Guinea Bissau. This Law regulates any geological and mining activity and in particular: geological research, investigation, finding and classification of minerals, characterization, assessment, exploitation, commercialization, and use of existing mineral resources in the soil, underground, except for oil and hydrocarbons products.
