Abstract This Law, consisting of 122 articles divided into 9 Chapters, approves the Code of Cooperatives. It establishes and applies to cooperatives of all grades and related organizations of the country. It establishes that cooperatives are autonomous collective entities, with constitution, variable capital and composition, in accordance with cooperative principles, are aimed at satisfying the economic, social or economic needs and aspirations. Cooperatives, in pursuit of their objectives, may carry out operations with third parties, without prejudice to any limits established by the laws of each branch. The cooperative sector comprises the following branches: a) Agricultural; b) Crafts; c) Marketing; d) Consumers; e) Credit; f) Culture; g) Teaching; h) Housing and construction; i) Fisheries; j) Worker production; k) Services; l) Social solidarity. The Law is divided as follows: General provisions (Chap. I); Constitution (Chap. II); Member States (Chap. III); Organs of cooperatives (Chap. IV); Economic Regime (Chap.
