Abstract This Law is composed of six Chapters divided in 27 articles. It rules on the scientific use of animals. It establishes a National Council for controlling animal testing (CONCEA). Moreover, it rules on Ethics Commissions during animal use (CEUAs). Particular attention is paid to the conditions of animal use for education and scientific research purposes. Finally, the law defines penalties and sanctions for non-compliance.
