Abstract The purpose of the present Law is to regulate the relations connected with ensuring protection of agricultural plants against pests, disease and weeds, prevention of negative impact of plant protection means on human health and environment. The state phytosanitary supervision shall be carried out by the Plant Protection Service subordinated to the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Management (art. 9). Registration of plant protection means either manufactured in the Republic of Uzbekistan or imported from other countries shall be subject to compulsory registration (art. 11). Standardization, certification and labelling of plant protection means shall be carried out in conformity with the modalities set by the legislation currently in force (art. 20). Potentially dangerous ecological situations originating in the process of manufacturing, storage, transport and use of highly toxic, virulent, radioactive and other substances used for the manufacturing of plant protection means, around the production sites and along thoroughfares special legal regime shall be set up in conformity with the legislation currently in force (art. 25).
