Abstract This Law creates the Environmental Protection Area (APA) of Jacarapé Beach, located on the Southern Coast of Paraíba in the Municipality of João Pessoa. The APA of Jacarapé Beach aims to ensure the following: regulate land use; the conservation of the remnants of the Jacarapé River Mangrove, an existing ecosystem in the area; the conservation of geomorphological elements; sustainable tourism; the preservation of Jacarapé Beach: the preservation of the customs of the Traditional Community of Jacarapé Beach; improve the quality of life of local populations through guidance and discipline in economic activities.
