Abstract

This Law establishes that daihan farm shall be labour association of family members engaged in agricultural production. Head of daihan farm shall be in charge of property of daihan farm and shall dispose of it by consent of other members of daihan farm. Each citizen of Turkmenistan beginning from 18 years of age shall have the right to set up daihan farm (Art. 4). Plots of agricultural land can be allotted to daihan farm in tenancy or in lease (Art. 7). Daihan farm shall have the following duties: (a) increase soil fertility and prevent deterioration of ecological situation as a result of activity of daihan farm; (b) carry out arrangements for the prevention of water and wind erosion, carry out land reclamation arrangements; (c) respect interests of other landowners, land tenants and leaseholders; (d) manage land exclusively in accordance with the purposeful use thereof; and (e) observe veterinary regulations in the process of stockbreeding (Art. 14). The Act consists of 4 Sections divided into 23 articles: (1) general provisions; (2) organization of daihan farm; (3) rights and duties of daihan farm; and (4) basis for the functioning of daihan farm.
