Abstract This Law, consisting of 7 Chapters, establishes the State Policy on Sanitation to be applied within the State of Bahia. This Policy specifies actions, services and works aimed at reaching increasing levels of environmental sanitation through potable water supply, water disposal, health promotion, etc. In particular, the Government of Bahia must promote the environmental safety, through policies, actions and supply basic services for all. It establishes the right for everyone to an adequate and improving environmental safety through preventive and mitigating measures to overcome potentially harmful activities.
