Abstract This Law establishes free distribution of milk with special infant formulas for infant children. In particular, a continuous and free distribution of lactose-free milk with hydrolyzed protein or free of amino acids is mandatory for infant children up to 2 years of age through the public health network of the State of Mato Grosso. These milks will be provided to lactose intolerant children or allergic to cow's milk proteins, respectively, as long as infant condition is confirmed by prescription and medical certificate, provided by the Unified Health System (SUS).
