Abstract This Law creates the Equine Passport. This Passport aims to allow free movement of horses, donkeys and mules in the territory of the State of Mato Grosso, for participation in parades, training, competitions, tests or any other activity or event of cultural, sporting or leisure nature and also for the exercise of equestrian activities of tourism, rural work, police or therapeutic aid. The Equine Passport is the official document, issued on a regular basis and with valid health records, equivalent to the Animal Transport Guide (GTA) and replacing any other document for transit purposes and fiscal regularity of these animals. All information contained in the Equine Passport will be provided by a veterinarian registered as a technical officer before the Institute of Agricultural and Livestock Protection of the State of Mato Grosso (INDEA/MT). The Equine Passport can only be issued to equidae originating from establishments registered in INDEA/MT and that comply with the sanitary legislation in force.
