Abstract This Law, consisting of 5 articles, creates the Food Aid Programme against Hunger within the State of Mato Grosso. The purpose of this programme is to redistribute surplus food from the reuse of processed and unprocessed food leftovers, prepared whether by industrial kitchens, restaurants, supermarkets, wine-shops, fairs, popular markets and other similar establishments in order to be classified and later donated to non-profit organizations. In order to achieve the programme, partnerships, covenants and other similar instruments may be signed with non-governmental organizations, religious entities, cooperatives and associations that carry out voluntary work, as well as entities and bodies of other Federation Units, in particular the Ministry of Social Development and Fight against Hunger and the National Secretariat for Food and Nutrition Security.
