Abstract This Law provides the rules and terms as regards degraded lands present on the territory of Romania, regardless of their form of ownership. Degrade lands can be restored and improved by afforestation works, in order to protect the soil, to restore the hydrological balance and to improve overall environmental conditions. The object of this Law is the afforestation of degraded lands, as defined in point 48 of the Annex to Law no. 46/2008-Romania Forestry Code.
