No.28/1993). The most important amendment is the addition of article 1a on Objectives. The following objectives are at the basis of the management and maintenance of the National Park: 1) to promote and further develop the area of the “Neusiedler See-Seewinkel” as a natural and scenic valuable area of national and international importance; 2) to secure for this area characteristic landscape, as well as its flora and fauna, including its habitats; 3) to further develop the National Park with a view to the awareness and acceptance of the population and in compliance with the rules of the National Park of the World Conservation Union (International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources – IUCN); 4) to further develop the cross-border National Park on the existing natural conditions with the Republic of Hungary; 5) to perceive the possibilities of utilization of the area for education and recreation, and for purposes of scientific research.
