Abstract This Act is dedicated to land use planning, which include, among others: determining the limits of land use, determining the necessary intervention for sanitation, reconstruction or cultivation purposes, assessing and evaluating the technical effects of land management and use, proposing the use of land resources for the most effective development of land. The Act consists of 145 articles and is divided into nine Parts: land use planning; building order; sanctions; appropriation; building offices, special building offices and communes; protection of special interests; information system and record keeping; joint provisions; transitional and closing provisions. Issues covered by the Act include: land use planning instruments, documentation, authorization and permits, inspection and supervision of works, expropriation and related compensation, enforcement and implementation of the Act, and offences and penalties.
