Long title
An Act to make provision for the acquisition of land by the Crown, public and local authorities and promoters, to authorize the acquisition of land for undertakings of a public nature, to provide for matters incidental to, and consequential on, that acquisition, and to repeal the Land Clauses Act 1857, the Lands Resumption Act 1957 and the Public Authorities’ Land Acquisition Act 1949.

Abstract

This Act, consisting of 86 sections divided into nine Parts and completed by two Schedules, makes provision for the acquisition of land by the Crown and by other authorities. The Act consists of 9 Parts divided into 86 sections: Preliminary (1); Acquisition of land by Crown for private sector infrastructure project (1A); Acquisition of land (2); Compensation entitlement (3); Claims for, and determination of, compensation (4); Payment of compensation (5); Powers in relation to land (6); Proceedings before the Court and Arbitrator (7); Persons under disability and limited owners (8); Miscellaneous (9).
