Functions of the Authority include planning and carrying out development works and regulate the extraction of sand from the lake. The Authority is responsible for granting licences and permits for carrying out different activities in the lake area and for managing the land within the development area which is vested in the Authority. The Act is completed by four schedules, one delimiting the development area, one defining development works and two on the Authority’s members and internal procedures.
