"Business" includes any lawful commerce, profession, trade, craftsmanship, calling, occupation or other activity other than a prescribed business carried on for purpose of gain (including large, medium and small agricultural production). The Act also prescribes annual licence fees and establishes a Trade Licensing Appeals Committee. A person aggrieved by a decision of the licensing officer may within fourteen days appeal to the Executive Committee Member against the decision. The Committee shall assist the responsible Executive Committee Member in appeals against decisions of the licensing officer. An application for a trade licence shall be accompanied by proof of compliance with the laws relating to health, fire, hygiene, safety and any other laws applicable to the license applied for.
