The County Public Service Board may, for purposes of this Act, appoint — (a) a County Director of Veterinary Services; (b) veterinary officers; (c) meat inspectors; and (d) other county officers and employees as may be necessary for the implementation of this Act. The Act defines functions of the County Director of Veterinary Services. The Act provides, among other things for: abattoir specifications and construction; licencing of abattoirs and slaughterhouses; rules for animal slaughter and meat inspection; grading of slaughtered animals and inspection; sanitary facilities and hygiene practices; disposal of condemned carcasses and part.
