There shall be a Board of the Corporation (reg. 3). The Corporation shall have functions regarding a wide variety of matters outlined in regulation 5 including co-ordination of all matters relating to crop pests and diseases control, to establish laboratories for monitoring quality and levels of toxic residues in plants, soils and products, to under take testing of plant varieties, certification of plants and quarantine of plants and related materials, to administer plant breeder’s rights, to enforce standards of good husbandry, to approve all seed and plants importation licences, and to implement the national policy on the introduction and use of genetically modified organisms (reg. 6).
