Abstract

This Act establishes the Kenya Maritime Authority as a body corporate. The Authority shall be the successor to the Kenya Maritime Authority existing immediately before the commencement of this Act. The principal objects of the Authority are to regulate, coordinate and oversee maritime affairs. The Authority shall, among other things: administer and enforce the provisions of the Merchant Shipping Act, 2009; discharge flag State and port State responsibilities in an efficient and effective manner;
