Abstract The Act provides regulations for development of local and supra-local spatial planning in the region of Kärnten. The spatial planning should be developed by the regional government by considering the natural balance requirements, reserving diversity, free access of public to lakes and landscapes, social and economical conditions of the region, and spread of housing, commercial enterprises, social services and recreational facilities. The plans should be research based and be regulated by the local authorities in light of the utmost economical use of land and soil, by granting a time period, and a description of the required measures to be taken and goals to be achieved. This Act contains 60 Articles and is designed in 9 Sections refers to the issues of local and supra-local spatial planning, different zoning plans, building ban, administration procedure for zoning and plan development.
