These Rules enter into force on the date of the publication in the Karnataka Gazette.
Abstract

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 43 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious and Contagious Diseases in Animals Act, 2009 (Act No. 27 of 2009), the Government of Karnataka makes the following Rules, aimed at preventing and controlling infectious and contagious animal diseases. They establish animal sanitary procedural matters related to the following issues: person at the quarantine station must collect necessary samples for laboratory examination; in charge person of check-post may detain animals at the check post for a period not exceeding 12 hours for the purpose of inspection, compulsory vaccination and identification/marking etc. After examination of the animal, the officer in charge of the check post shall either allow animals to enter or transport the animals to the Quarantine Camp.
