Abstract

The present Regulation establishes the modalities of special use of aquatic living resources of the basic importance (except for species recorded in the Red Book) by the enterprises, institutions and organizations irrespectively of the form of property, and by the Ukrainian nationals in the fishing water bodies including internal sea, EEZ and the continental shelf. Aquatic living resources shall include freshwater fishes, marine fishes, aquatic invertebrates, molluscs and algae. Quotas shall be set for species (group of species) subject to stock enhancement by single sample breeding. The priority of the allocation of quotas shall be given to the users that carry out scientific research, to the users that carry out single sample fish breeding activity, fishing amelioration arrangements ensuring the improvement of fishing water bodies and to the users that traditionally carry out management of aquatic living resources. Fishing authorization, labels for the marking of fishing gear specified in the fishing authorization shall be handed out to the users within week’s term from the date of submitting the application form. In the process of fisheries shall be authorized removal of aquatic living resources from their natural habitats in conformity with the requirements of the fisheries regulations in force at the fishing water bodies in which fishing is being carried out, of the present Regulation and the holder of the fishing authorization shall be present in the fishing area in possession of fishing authorization, fishing register and personal identity document.
