Abstract

The Regulation consists of 4 Sections dealing with the following matters: 1) general provisions (sect. 1); 2) drainage systems’ operation (sect. 2); 3) operation of the irrigative water-sprinklers (sect. 3); 4) general requirements set for irrigation systems (sect. 4). The Regulation establishes the basic requirements for drainage and irrigation systems used for agricultural purposes and the arrangements for technical operation of the aforesaid systems. The Regulation shall be compulsory for all operators in the agricultural sector. The main tasks for the operation of drainage systems shall be: 1) supervision over the maintenance and running; 2) regulation of water distribution with the aim of rational use of water and land resources for agricultural purposes; 3) improvement of the technical state and operation of drainage systems for the purpose of increase in agricultural production; 4) environmental protection arrangements in order to maintain ecological balance on drained land. The operators, for the purpose of examination of the technical state of drainage systems and more efficient use of the drained land, must carry out certification of drainage systems. The drainage system certificate must contain quantitative and qualitative data and all the modifications regarding drainage systems and works. The main tasks for the operation of the irrigative water-sprinklers shall be: 1) supervision; 2) technical maintenance; 3) repairs. The supervision shall include protection of water sources, technical inspection of equipment, water quality control and the amount of water reserve in soil. The operators, for the purpose of examination of the technical state of the irrigative water-sprinklers and more efficient use of the irrigated land, must carry out certification of irrigative water-sprinklers.
