Abstract This Joint Norm, consisting of 12 articles and four Annexes, regulates the registration of semiochemical products. It establishes the procedures to be adopted for registering semiochemical products that are characterized as technical products, pesticides and agrochemicals, according to the definitions established in art. 1 of Decree No. 4.074 of 4 January 2002. Semiochemical products are those composed of chemical substances that evoke behavioural or physiological responses in organisms and which are used for the purpose of detecting, monitoring and controlling a population or biological activity of living organisms, and can be classified, depending on the action they cause, intra or interspecific, as pheromones and allelochemicals, respectively. For the purpose of registering semiochemical products, the applicant shall submit to the federal agencies of agriculture, health and the environment, two copies of the application set out in Annex II of Decree No. 4.074 and the information required in Annexes I, II and III of this Joint Norm.
