Abstract

This Decision establishes fishing license requirements for fishing Giant red shrimp (Aristaeomorpha foliacea) and blue-red shrimp (Aristeus antennatus). In particular, it specifies that fishing for these shrimp species (FAO codes ARS and ARA respectively) is carried out with the trawling vessels licensed for fishing. The granting of the above fishing license shall require the fishing vessel to have a fishing license, in accordance with point 666/66 of Ministerial Decision No. 271/2576 of 9 January 2014 (B 58). The fishing license shall be issued by the Regional Fisheries Service with the agreement of the Directorate-General for Fisheries Management. It shall be granted for each year and valid from 1 January to 31 December of the following year of its issue. Fishing vessels which are not provided with a 'fishing license for these shrimp species may not fish, keep on board, land more than 3% of the total live weight of the catches kept on board.
