Subject Water Keyword Water rights Dispute settlement Contract/agreement Geographical area Americas, Arctic, East Pacific, North America, North Atlantic Abstract The purposes of this Act are to: (a) approve, ratify and incorporate a contract between the United States and the Jicarilla Apache Tribe setting forth the commitments, rights and obligations of the United States and the Tribe in providing for the resolution of all water rights claims of the Tribe ("The Settlement Contract"), and; (b) to authorize the actions and appropriations necessary and to appropriate for the United States to fulfil its obligations under such contract. Section 6 specifies water which shall be made available each year under the Settlement Contract. The water so made available may be subcontracted by the Tribe if not used (sect. 7).
