Abstract

The provisions laid down by these regulations govern the manufacture, marketing and importation of foods and food ingredients which are treated with ionizing radiation. The First Schedule attached to these regulations sets out the conditions that must be fulfilled in order to obtain the authorization to treat foodstuffs with ionizing radiation. Irradiation may be carried out only by means of the sources specified in the Second Schedule. Only dried aromatic herbs, spices and vegetable seasonings
