Abstract This Decree makes rules in matter of undesirable substances and products in animal nutrition, in accordance with the provisions laid down at Community level by Directive 1999/29/EC which, actually, has been entirely replaced by Directive 2002/32/EC. Feed materials may be put into circulation on condition that they are sound, genuine and of merchantable quality. Annex I establishes the conditions under which certain products or substances may be contained in animal feed. Related maximum levels are set out. Article 5 authorizes the Ministry of Health to apply emergency measures if it deems it necessary to protect public health, animal health or the environment. Local health authorities shall carry out sampling and controls to verify compliance with these provisions (art. 6).
