Abstract The Inter-Sectoral Rural Development Strategy of Albania (ISRDSA) is a national strategy laying down priorities for rural development and covering the period 2007-2013. The overall objective is the improvement of socio-economic conditions in rural areas. To this end, measures are set out concerning: a) promotion of the agricultural and agro food sector through farm modernization; b) enhancing sustainable management of natural resources; c) improving the quality of life in rural areas; d) developing rural development management programmes.
