The timeframe of the policy is 10 years between 2020 and 2030. The sector-specific target of this policy is to reduce emissions 100% below Business-As-Usual emissions for electricity sub-sector and 30% for energy sector as a whole, by transitioning to close to 100% renewable energy in the electricity sector by 2030 in compliance with the objective of the UNFCCC. In addition to this target, additional mitigation interventions will be carried out to reduce emissions in the forestry, agriculture, transport and energy efficiency sectors.
