Abstract The Fisheries Director is a State official at municipal level. He shall be directly subordinated to the Fisheries Chief. He shall lead manage the daily activity of the secretariat of the Fisheries Board. He can, at his own initiative bring certain matters to the attention of the Fisheries Board. He shall also be responsible for the fishermen census. He may issue instructions for fishermen regarding the most effective fishing methods, use of gear, fishing vessels, etc. (sect. 3). He shall also assist in the administration of the Guarantee Fund for Fishermen. Furthermore he shall carry out all tasks conferred upon him by the Fisheries Board and other higher authorities.
