The purposes of sanitary felling are to grow highly productive precious forest species, and to preserve and strengthen its protective functions (soil erosion prevention, water conservation, sanitary and hygienic protection) thereof and use of timber. Sanitary felling shall be carried out by removing unfavourable tree species to create favourable growing conditions for precious main tree species. The following types of sanitary felling shall be authorized: (a) first cleaning; (b) early thinning; (c) isolation; and (d) advanced thinning.
