Abstract

This Instruction applies to final felling, intermediate felling and selective felling in cutting areas with re-growth and young growth of precious forest species. This Instruction is mandatory and shall apply to both plain and mountain forests. Conservation of re-growth and young growth shall prevent unfavourable changes in forest species, reduce the reforestation period and preserve the water protection function of forests. Viable re-growth and young growth of pine, cedar, larch, spruce, fir tree, oak, beech, ash tree and other precious forest species shall be conserved in their natural growing areas. In order to protect re-growth against unfavourable environmental impacts in cutting areas, beneficial associated species (maple, linden, etc.) and shrubbery shall be preserved totally or partially re-grown and, if necessary, main species shall be subject to removal cutting.
