Abstract

This Instruction requires that railway carriages used to transport of any species of animal (including poultry, fur-bearing animals, laboratory animals, circensian animals, zoo animals, domestic animals, aquatic animals, bees, fish and crustaceans), products and raw materials of animal origin (including meat and fish products) be washed and disinfected at the appropriately equipped stations of the railways of the Russian Federation. Washing and disinfection operations shall be carried out in the presence of a veterinary specialist. Veterinary and sanitary treatment shall be carried out according to the following categories of railway carriages: (a) those used to transport healthy animals; (b) those used to transport sick animals and animal products originating in areas where an infectious disease has been found; and (c) those in which sick animals or animal carcasses have been discovered at the destination point.
