The Institute is established as a body corporate and shall be charged with the responsibility of conducting quality academic and professional research, education, training, consultancy and advocacy on travel, tourism, hotel, catering, culture, entertainment and hospitality studies. It shall, among other things, assist and advise the Bayelsa State Government in developing laws and policies relating to the conservation and protection of wildlife, the environment and the eco system.
