Abstract

These Regulations, made under section 37 of the Inland Waters Shipping Act, provide rules for the navigation by vessels on inland waters. Various rules specifically apply to fishing vessels. The Regulations also require all vessels not engaged in fishing to keep out of the way of vessels engaged in fishing. Rules for fishing vessels concern, among other things: navigation lights and other recognition equipment to be carried on board and to be used while navigating or fishing; signals to be given by vessels engaged in fishing with trolling lines; and use of buoys to mark fishing grounds.
