Abstract

This Regulation implements the section 112 of the Impact Assessment Act. According to subsection 10(1) of the Act, "the proponent of a designated project must provide the Agency with an initial description of the project that includes the information prescribed by regulations made under paragraph 112(1)(a)." This Regulation specifies the before referred information. It provides also causes for the suspension of time limits. For the purposes of paragraph 18(1)(b) of the Act, the Agency must provide the proponent with the following documents: (a) tailored guidelines regarding the information or studies referred to in paragraph 18(1)(a) of the Act; (b) a plan for cooperation with other jurisdictions; (c) a plan for engagement and partnership with the Indigenous peoples of Canada; (d) a plan for public participation; and (e) a plan for the issuance of permits.
